The Fetal Echo cardiologist informed us that we were a mild to moderate case, that would need to deliver in San Francisco. Her voice was grave, and she made certain I understood the seriousness of the situation. It took all my might to not breakdown and cry in front of that doctor. Instead I waited until I got to the car, for it to settle in. Once I managed to quiet my sobs enough to pick up the phone, I called my parents and shared the information.
Now with all this information circling in my head, I did what I could to search for explanations online. However I also know that not everything on the internet is correct, so I went further and joined a couple different social groups on Facebook as a way to regain hope. Don't get me wrong I have faith that everything happens for a reason, but sometimes it is just nice to hear reassurances from other families that went through the same experiences, and or similar ones.

Now my next appointment was with my OBGYN, and after giving him the results of the recent ultrasound findings, he informed me that he could not see me anymore. Just what every mother wants to hear right? Wrong! He said that due to protocol and regulations that if I was to be delivered in San Francisco then I would have to have an OB in San Francisco. What? One, that didn't make sense as my last OBGYN with my first son said I could deliver wherever I wanted, but that it may not be him doing the labor. And two, where was I supposed to go, I do not live in San Francisco, so how would I find a doctor. That discussion added all the more stress to my shoulders.
Well in the end, it all worked out, as he was able to refer me to an OBGYN that was minutes down the road from my house that worked in relation to the hospital I was to deliver at. So with that taken care of, the next thing on the list was to meet with the Hospital and specialists that would be treating us in San Francisco.
